material
Major assignment: Worth 2 grades.
(Remember, the major assignment is designed to take 3 to 5 hours of
time, on average.) DUE Monday, September 16.
Purposes and skills: Thinking and writing (2-3 hours); creating, populating, and
formatting a table in Microsoft Word (1-2 hours)
 | Use the items in "Pay Attention!" hints
for studying Unit 1 material (see link above). For each
bulleted item, do ONE of the following:
 | find an example from your ACC 201/202, FIN301,
ECO203/205, or BUS256 textbooks that illustrates the item or
explains the item; or |
| explain the item with an example from an
entrepreneurial business in which you have been involved; or |
| define the item IN YOUR OWN WORDS and create a
short example; or |
| find an example of the use of the item in a
recent Business Week or The Wall Street Journal
article; or |
| find an example of the use of the item in one
of the listed resources for Unit 1 (see Resources page link
above) |

| In Microsoft Word, create and format a 3 column
table. The first column will identify each item (in order!),
the second column will include your thinking and writing, the third
column will be the source of your example. Be sure to use
proper reference style for the source. There are guidelines
for writing and references on the General
Writing Guidelines page of this website. |
| Turn in this assignment as a digital file
attachment to an email message. Please email the file (AS AN
ATTACHMENT) to jgasper@creighton.edu,
with the subject line being "Unit 1 Major Assignment--last
