Thinking and writing about ethics in entrepreneurial firms; using the header/footer function in Microsoft WORD

CHOOSE ONE!

	THEME: Does so-called "black box accounting" pose a serious threat to entrepreneurial firms? How should they respond?
	THEME: Ethics and the Entrepreneur
	THEME: How have small and/or new businesses been affected by the world-wide events on and since September 11, 2001?

Use business writing format (By the way, this is a short report, not a long report)

Use the header function of Microsoft WORD to identify the authors (1 to 3 students may work together). Use the footer function to identify the date you wrote the essay. If you do not know how to use the header/footer function, ASK!

This assignment should be turned in as a printed essay, not more than 2 pages long.

Major assignment: Worth 2 grades. (Remember, the major assignment is designed to take 3 to 5 hours of time, on average.) DUE BEFORE FALL BREAK

Understanding the relative costs of short term credit sources and how to calculate them; building complex formulas in Microsoft EXCEL and using the comment function.

	Finish the Excel worksheet begun during class lecture.
	For each source of short term credit, insert a comment in the first cell of the last row for that source, explaining what you believe are the one or two most important determinants of the level of the APCF for that source, and how you came to that conclusion. If you do some calculations to support your conclusion, indicate where to find those calculations. If you don't know how to use the Insert Comment function, ASK!
	Turn in your EXCEL file by attaching it to an email to jgasper@creighton.edu. The subject line of your email should be "Unit 2 Major Assignment--last names", where you insert the last names of those who worked on the assignment with you.
