Letter grades will be assigned to each graded item. Your final grade in the course will be an average (based on Creighton's 4.0 scale) of the grades assigned to individual assignments.  Grades will be assigned based on the generic descriptions in the Creighton University Undergraduate Bulletin, in bold, and the professor's more specific descriptions (in parentheses). Please read these descriptions and decide to which level you wish to aspire!

Grade Description
A (4.0)
Outstanding achievement and unusual degree of intellectual competence (Student demonstrates commitment to the class through attendance, attitude, preparation, curiosity)
A- (3.75) Not an official Creighton grading unit, but will be used for an assignment that meets the intellectual requirements of an A, but has mistakes in presentation (i.e., grammatical, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure errors)
B+ (3.5)
Excellent work (Student demonstrates commitment to the class through attendance, attitude, preparation)
B (3.0)
Attainment above the average (Student has consistent performance even if it is not brilliant work; demonstrates commitment to the class)
C+ (2.5)
Upper average work (Student demonstrates commitment to the class, while earning middle to average scores; does revisions willingly; turns in work on time; overriding impression will be that this student really tries, while performing at the second or third level of competence)
C (2.0)
Lower average performance (Student is unable to perform at level of most of the students; sloppy, incomplete, late work; lack of enthusiasm in performance; exhibits boredom; mediocre or inconsistent performance on tests; overriding impression may be that this student doesn't really care about the subject and his or her own work)
D (1.0)
Inferior, but still passing (the student's work is only marginally acceptable either because of poor understanding or because quantity of work completed is insufficient)
F (0.0) Failing
