Information Systems and Technology Department

Assistant/Associate Professor in Information Systems

CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY College of Business Administration invites applications for tenure track assistant or associate professor of Information Systems (IS). The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in IS or a related field. The candidate must demonstrate evidence of quality teaching and research. Candidates with teaching interests in Database, Data Communications, Electronic Commerce, and related technologies are particularly encouraged to apply. The college has recently implemented a Master of Science degree in Electronic Commerce and established the Joe Ricketts Research Center in Electronic Commerce and Database Marketing. The department offers an undergraduate concentration in MIS, a Masters degree in Information Technology Management (ITM) and the newly created Master of Science degree in e-commerce. Creighton University is a Catholic, Jesuit University in a vibrant and growing metropolitan area and has been ranked number one by U.S. News and World Report for four years in a row as the best regional university in the Midwest. The mission of the College of Business Administration is to educate for business leadership in a dynamic, transformational, and value-centered learning environment. It has 34 full-time faculty and enrolls approximately 650 undergraduate and 200 graduate students in AACSB accredited programs. The Department of Marketing and Management has 10 full-time faculty.

The Geographic Area:  Omaha, Nebraska is a metropolitan area of 600,000 residents (1 million with immediate surrounds) set in the rolling hills of eastern Nebraska. With an unemployment rate of less than 2%, the economy is vibrant and growing. Omaha is a major center for telephone-based direct marketing, the home of Offutt Air Force Base and US Stratcom, Union Pacific Railroad, Berkshire Hathaway, ConAgra, Mutual of Omaha, and other Fortune 500 companies. Residents enjoy easy access via interstate highways to Colorado skiing, Big 12 sports, and professional sports and shopping in Kansas City, Denver, and Minneapolis.
